An important class of splines are the so-called
NURBS. NURBS is the abbreviation of Non Uniform Rational B-Splines.
There are various introductional
books
on splines available.
NURBS are very popular in games, design of cars, aeroplanes,
fonts etc.
Splines are also used in Isogeometric Analysis. The
IGAA2018 conference
was organised in Delft. We also worked on a large project: MOTOR
(Multi-ObjecTive design Optimization of fluid eneRgy machines).
